Since its inception four years ago, TikTok has skyrocketed in popularity, becoming the number one social media platform for short video clips. Notably, this widespread popularity is heavily concentrated amongst younger users, with the majority of TikTok’s account holders estimated to be thirty or younger.
Despite its overwhelming success, TikTok has had to grapple with some adversity recently. Notably, the platform was prohibited in India at the beginning of this year, plus the US government has raised queries about the manner in which it accumulates data.
It appears that TikTok could be facing a fresh challenge given that users have reported being blocked from submitting videos.
The experience for many users has taken a unfortunate turn when, upon trying to post a video, they are met with an alarming message that reads, “This video cannot be posted.” Unfortunately, this issue appears to be occurring relatively frequently and the technical cause remains unknown.
TikTok relies heavily on user-generated videos for its continued popularity, making this dilemma a worrisome one. Without the ability for users to post, the very essence of the app will soon become trivial.
So far, TikTok has yet to respond to the issue; however, we will continue to monitor the situation and provide any updates to this article.
A public response concerning the issue at hand has now been issued by TikTok, which states:
It has come to our notice that certain users are experiencing difficulty posting videos. We are actively striving to settle the matter as promptly as we can.
